DDLT-2-2122-31-M
Configurable DWDM OADM Line Termination Unit
The DDLT-2-CFG is a configurable DWDM line termination unit built on thin film filter (TFF) technology, adding and dropping one selectable 100GHz ITU-T G.694.1 channel pair at the site where it is installed. Choose from 20 channel pairs spanning Ch.21/22 through Ch.59/60, a mini-LGX or LGX housing, and an optional 1310nm window port for live power tap without breaking the express path. The unit is a passive, double-fiber device with no power requirement and no EXP expansion port.

2 Channels Double Fiber Passive DWDM Line Termination Unit Description
The DDLT-2-CFG is a one-sided DWDM optical add/drop multiplexer, a line termination unit rather than a two-sided mid-ring OADM. It adds and drops one selected channel pair at the install site, without passing that channel onward to the far end of the link.
Channel assignment is configurable at order time across 20 DWDM channel pairs on the 100GHz ITU-T G.694.1 grid, from Ch.21/22 through Ch.59/60 (1560.61 to 1529.55nm). The filter stage uses thin film filter (TFF) technology, with 25dB adjacent and 35dB non-adjacent channel isolation, LC/UPC connectors, and a passband greater than 0.22nm.
Housing is also configurable: mini-LGX or standard LGX Type, to match the rack cassette in use. The unit carries two optical data streams and two channels total, with no EXP expansion port; it is built for single-site add/drop, not a mid-ring pass-through node.
An optional 1310nm window port taps the express path for live optical power monitoring without breaking the signal. Selecting it raises insertion loss from the 1.2dB baseline to approximately 1.5dB; leave it off to keep insertion loss at the lower figure.
The unit is fully passive, with no power input and no active electronics. Polarization dependent loss is 0.1dB, polarization mode dispersion is 0.1ps, return loss is 45dB, rated for up to 500mW across 0 to 70C.
This is a double fiber unit with separate transmit and receive fiber paths, not compatible with single-fiber (BiDi) DWDM links. Compliance covers CE, ISO, RoHS, and ITU-T G.694.1, with an MTBF rating of 1,000,000 hours. For channel pair selection or configuration guidance, contact our sales team.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between the DDLT-2-CFG and a DWDM mux/demux?
A DWDM OADM line termination unit like the DDLT-2-CFG adds and drops one selected channel pair at the site where it is installed, terminating that channel locally rather than passing it onward to the far end of the link. A DWDM mux/demux instead combines or separates the full set of DWDM wavelengths at a single link endpoint, rather than a single selected pair.
Which DWDM channel pairs are available on the DDLT-2-CFG?
The DDLT-2-CFG is configurable across 20 channel pairs on the 100GHz ITU-T G.694.1 grid, spanning Ch.21/22 through Ch.59/60 (1560.61 to 1529.55nm). Channel pair, housing, and the window port option are all selected at order time.
What does the 1310nm window port do, and does it affect insertion loss?
The 1310nm window port is an optional tap that allows live optical power monitoring without breaking the express path. Adding it raises insertion loss from the 1.2dB baseline to approximately 1.5dB; the configuration without the window port keeps insertion loss at the lower figure.
Is the DDLT-2-CFG compatible with single-fiber (BiDi) DWDM links?
No. The DDLT-2-CFG is a double fiber unit with separate transmit and receive fiber paths, and it is not compatible with single-fiber (BiDi) DWDM links.
