10G BiDi SFP+ 100km Transceiver (Tx1550Rx1490): BIDI-10G-SFP-100B

The BIDI-10G-SFP-100B is a Tx1550nm/Rx1490nm version of the EdgeOptic 10G BiDi SFP+ single-fiber transceiver, built for 100 km links over a single strand of single-mode fiber. An EML laser drives the 1550 nm transmit path and an APD photodiode handles the 1490 nm receive path, with an integrated WDM filter separating the two directions on one fiber. The module holds a 25 dB average link budget, 0 to +5 dBm transmit power, and −23 dBm receiver sensitivity with a −7 dBm overload point. Running a single fiber instead of a fiber pair frees a strand on long-haul routes where dark fiber is limited or expensive.

Built to the SFF-8431 SFP+ MSA, the module drops into any standard SFP+ port and supports broad multi-vendor compatibility through coded EEPROM. Digital diagnostics (DDM/DOM) report real-time temperature, supply voltage, laser bias, transmit power, and received power for link monitoring. The single LC/UPC connector keeps the interface compact, and a +3.3V supply with a 0 to 70 degrees C commercial temperature rating suits standard equipment-room and enclosure deployments.

BiDi modules operate as a complementary pair. The BIDI-10G-SFP-100B transmits at 1550 nm and receives at 1490 nm, so it must be deployed against a Tx1490/Rx1550 unit at the opposite end of the fiber. Two identical Tx1550 modules cannot establish a link, because each module's WDM filter blocks reception of its own transmit wavelength.
