4-Channel Double Fiber High-Band CCWDM Mux/Demux Overview

The DCMD-4 is a 4-channel double-fiber passive CWDM mux/demux built around a single CCWDM optical core. Configure it to the deployment: choose a mini-LGX, LGX, or 19" 1U housing, select one of five CWDM band groups (1271-1331nm, 1351-1411nm, 1411-1471nm, 1471-1531nm, or 1551-1611nm), and add the 1310nm monitoring tap where OTDR test access is needed. Every configuration ships with LC/UPC connectors, ITU-T G.694.2 channel spacing, passive insertion loss below 1.2 dB, and the EXP expansion port standard for future channel growth.

4 Data Channels Double Fiber Passive CWDM Mux/Demux Description

The DCMD-4-CFG is a configurable CWDM MUX/DEMUX unit that combines or splits four wavelength channels onto one fiber pair. It uses Compact CWDM (CCWDM) free space filter technology with LC/UPC connectors on every port; channel spacing follows the ITU-T G.694.2 CWDM grid at 20 nm intervals. As a passive device, it needs no power or cooling and has no active parts to maintain.

Three housings are available: mini-LGX, LGX, and 19 inch 1U rack mount. LGX and mini-LGX mount in an LGX-compatible fiber distribution chassis; the 19 inch 1U installs in a standard rack. Each unit covers four channels in one selectable CWDM band: 1271 to 1331 nm, 1351 to 1411 nm, 1411 to 1471 nm, 1471 to 1531 nm, or 1551 to 1611 nm. Only one band ships per unit; match it to the connected transceivers.

Passband insertion loss is 1.2 dB, with 0.3 dB channel ripple and a passband tolerance of plus or minus 6.5 nm. Isolation is 30 dB between adjacent channels and 40 dB between non-adjacent channels. Polarization dependent loss is 0.2 dB, polarization mode dispersion is 0.1 ps, directivity is 50 dB, and return loss is 45 dB. Maximum power handling is 500 mW, with an MTBF of 1,000,000 hours.

Every DCMD-4 unit includes a fixed 1% monitor port, tapping a small fraction of the combined signal for power monitoring at 23 dB insertion loss on that tap path, without interrupting the main traffic. A separate, optional 1310 nm window can be added, contributing about 1.2 dB of its own insertion loss for a dedicated 1310nm pass-through alongside the CWDM channels. Every unit also includes an EXP expansion port that connects to a second mux/demux unit on a different CWDM band, growing channel count on the same fiber pair later.

Operating temperature is -5 to 70 C with 5 to 95% humidity, and storage temperature is -40 to 85 C. The unit is CE and ISO certified and complies with ITU-T G.694.2 and RoHS. Each configuration is built as a special order. For configuration guidance or volume orders, contact our sales team.
