Our EDGEOPTIC 1000M-SFP-TI is a multi-vendor compatible 10/100/1000BASE-T copper SFP module designed to enable SFP-equipped networking devices to connect via standard copper twisted pair cabling in demanding industrial environments. This industrial-grade copper transceiver provides a robust solution for short-reach connectivity in manufacturing facilities, outdoor installations, transportation systems, and harsh environment deployments where extended temperature operation is essential and fiber optic infrastructure is not required.

The 1000M-SFP-TI module supports auto-negotiation across 10BASE-T, 100BASE-T, and 1000BASE-T Ethernet standards, providing flexible multi-speed operation from 10 Mbps to 1 Gbps over standard Category 5 or better twisted pair cabling. This tri-speed capability enables seamless integration with legacy 10/100 Mbps equipment while supporting full Gigabit Ethernet performance where available. The module features an integrated RJ45 connector providing direct copper connectivity without requiring external media converters or additional cabling adapters. Transmission distances reach up to 100 meters over Category 5 or better unshielded twisted pair (UTP) cabling, consistent with IEEE 802.3 Ethernet distance specifications for copper media.

The 1000M-SFP-TI is a hot-pluggable SFP module featuring an RJ45 electrical interface. The host-side electrical interface conforms to INF-8074i and SFP MSA (Multi-Source Agreement) specifications, ensuring compatibility with standard SFP host systems across multiple vendor equipment platforms. Our industrial copper SFP transceiver can be encoded for compatibility with 80+ equipment brands, enabling seamless integration into existing network infrastructure. The module incorporates DDM/DOM (Digital Diagnostic Monitoring) functionality where supported by the host equipment, providing real-time operational parameters for comprehensive monitoring of transceiver health and performance – particularly valuable in remote industrial installations where proactive maintenance reduces costly site visits.

The industrial-grade design operates across an extended temperature range of -45°C to +85°C, enabling reliable deployment in environments where standard commercial-grade transceivers would fail. This includes outdoor telecommunications cabinets, roadside traffic management systems, railway trackside equipment, oil and gas installations, mining operations, cold storage facilities, and manufacturing environments with significant temperature variations. The ruggedized construction ensures consistent performance across extreme temperature cycles without degradation. The SFP form factor, while considered a legacy standard, remains widely deployed across enterprise, carrier, and industrial networks due to its proven reliability and broad equipment support. Power requirements are met by a single +3.3V supply.
