Our EDGEOPTIC 800G-OSFP800-102 is a multi-vendor compatible 800GBASE-2xSR4 OSFP800 optical module designed for next-generation 800 Gigabit Ethernet applications operating over multimode fiber cabling. This transceiver utilizes the OSFP800 form factor, delivering 850 Gbps aggregate throughput through a 2xSR4 configuration with eight parallel 106.25 Gbps lanes using PAM4 (Pulse Amplitude Modulation 4-level) signaling technology. The dual MPO-12/APC connector design enables flexible deployment options for high-density data center environments.

The 800G-OSFP800-102 operates at 850nm wavelength for both transmission and reception, utilizing VCSEL (Vertical-Cavity Surface-Emitting Laser) technology for transmission and PIN photodiode for signal reception. This optical configuration ensures a guaranteed 1.8 dB link budget, enabling reliable transmission over OM4/OM5 multimode fiber. With Host FEC (Forward Error Correction) support, the module achieves maximum transmission distances up to 100 meters over high-bandwidth multimode fiber infrastructure, making it ideal for intra-rack and adjacent-rack connectivity in hyperscale data centers.

This 800G OSFP800 transceiver is hot-pluggable with dual MTP/MPO-12 APC connectors serving as the optical interface. The electrical interface conforms to OSFP800 MSA (Multi-Source Agreement) specifications, ensuring compatibility with standard host systems from multiple equipment vendors. The finned top design provides enhanced thermal management, supporting continuous high-bandwidth operation while maintaining optimal component temperatures. Our transceiver supports CDR (Clock and Data Recovery) functionality for signal integrity optimization across the eight optical lanes.

The module incorporates DDM/DOM (Digital Diagnostic Monitoring) functionality, providing real-time operational parameters including transmitted and received optical power levels, module temperature, laser bias current, and supply voltage monitoring. This diagnostic data is accessible via CMIS v5.2 compliant management interface, enabling comprehensive transceiver health monitoring and predictive maintenance capabilities. The transceiver operates within a commercial 0°C to 70°C temperature range with storage temperature rated from -40°C to 85°C.

Standards compliance includes IEEE 802.3 specifications for 800 Gigabit Ethernet, along with OSFP800 MSA mechanical and electrical requirements. The optical parameters meet industry specifications with average launch power ranging from -4.6 dBm to 4 dBm per lane, extinction ratio minimum of 2.5 dB, and receiver sensitivity from -6.4 dBm to 4 dBm with 5 dBm receiver overload protection. Power consumption is optimized at 14W maximum, operating from a single +3.3V power supply.
