Our EDGEOPTIC 100G-CFP-10 is a multi-vendor compatible 100GBASE-LR4 CFP optical module designed for 100 Gigabit Ethernet applications operating over single-mode fiber infrastructure. The 100G-CFP-10 module implements 4-channel LAN WDM technology utilizing wavelengths at 1295.56nm, 1300.05nm, 1304.58nm, and 1309.14nm for both transmission and reception, supporting data rates from 103.125 to 111.81 Gbps with OTU4 optical transport network compatibility. Our 100G CFP LR4 transceiver employs DFB (Distributed Feedback) laser technology for transmission paired with PIN photodiode array for reception, delivering proven reliability in the original CFP form factor.

The transceiver provides a 6.3 dB guaranteed optical link budget, enabling transmission distances up to 10 kilometers over standard single-mode fiber. Each of the four optical lanes operates at approximately 25 Gbps using NRZ (Non-Return to Zero) modulation, with average launch power between 4.3 and 4.5 dBm per lane. The receiver sensitivity of -10.6 dBm per lane with overload tolerance up to 4.5 dBm ensures stable signal detection across varying network conditions. While first-generation CFP represents a legacy form factor approaching end-of-life phase, these modules remain essential for maintaining existing 100G infrastructure where CFP ports are deployed, particularly in carrier and enterprise environments with substantial installed base.

100G-CFP-10 compatible module features hot-pluggable installation with duplex LC connectors serving as the optical interface. The electrical interface conforms to CFP MSA specifications including SFF-8419 power management and SFF-8636 management interface standards, ensuring compatibility with standard CFP host systems across diverse vendor platforms. Our 100GBASE-LR4 CFP transceiver can be encoded for compatibility with 80+ equipment brands through customized EEPROM programming. The module incorporates comprehensive DDM/DOM (Digital Diagnostic Monitoring) functionality, providing real-time telemetry including per-lane optical power levels, module temperature, laser bias current, and supply voltage via the MSA-compliant interface.

Standards compliance encompasses IEEE 802.3ba for 100 Gigabit Ethernet along with OTU4 support for telecommunications carrier networks. The integrated CDR (Clock and Data Recovery) circuits maintain signal integrity across the full operational distance. Operating within 0 to 70°C temperature range with single +3.3V power supply, the module consumes up to 9W, reflecting first-generation CFP power requirements while delivering robust performance in controlled data center environments.
