NOKIA DAC, AOC & Breakout cables

Our line of (Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise) NOKIA DAC cables, Breakout Cable and AOC cable compatible solutions are commonly used for 10G to 100G short-distance connections, generally in data centers or network equipment rooms of corporations and ISPs. We have analyzed the Alcatel Lucent Enterprise (OmniSwitch) datasheets and we mapped our products to the Part Numbers of Alcatel-Lucent OEM versions to simplify the daily life of network engineers. Our NOKIA (Alcatel-Lucent) DAC Cables and Breakout Cable compatibles are based on our own products, which we can adapt for effective operation on all common Alcatel-Lucent platforms OmniSwitch 6900 and others. Due to the fact that DAC is a high-speed copper cable assembly that does not involve optical lasers, DAC cables have gained appeal because of their inexpensive cost. Additionally, our DAC cable compatibles feature reduced power usage and straightforward installation. The products displayed in this summary are based on NOKIA (Alcatel-Lucent) DAC cable lengths, although we are able to produce cables of any length to fulfill the demands of our customers. DAC Cable compatibles are recommended for connecting equipment ports up to 10 meters apart; for greater distances, AOC should be considered. NOKIA (Alcatel-Lucent) AOC cables have Active Optical Cable which is a high-speed optical cable assembly with attached pre-terminated optical transceivers to a multi-mode optical fiber. This approach offers a number of benefits to the user. AOCs are significantly lighter than Twinax DAC cables, and they can reach distances up to 100 meters (DACs can reach distances up to 10 meters). They also have a modest bending radius of 3 millimeters, and they have a strong tolerance to electromagnetic radiation (EMI). When compared to a traditional solution that consists of optical transceivers and a patch cable, the latter solution is easier to install and has less optical budget loss because there is no attenuation introduced by the connectors. As a result, longer distance connections are possible. Because there are no optical connectors, using AOC cables is inherently safer because there are fewer potential failure points.
