An Active Optical Cable (AOC Cable) is a high-speed optical cable assembly with pre-terminated optical transceivers attached to a multi-mode optical fiber. This method provides several advantages to the user. AOC are much lighter than DAC cables and can reach distances of up to 100 meters (Passive DACs can reach distances up to 10 meters). They also have a small bending radius of 3 millimeters and a high tolerance to electromagnetic radiation (EMI). When compared to a traditional solution consisting of optical transceivers and a patch cable, the latter solution is easier to install and has less optical budget loss due to the absence of connector attenuation. Longer distance connections are thus possible. Because AOC lack optical connectors, they are inherently safer because there are fewer potential failure points. Compatible alternatives to 10G, 25G, 40G, 50G, 100G, and 400G AOC cables, as well as 100G to 25G breakout AOC cables and 40G to 10G AOC cables, are available in our portfolio.

10G AOC cable
Our 10G AOC cable selection includes SFP+ to SFP+ Active Optical Cables in lengths ranging from 1 meter to 100 meters, allowing for cost-effective 10G interconnection within racks using the ToR method or across close racks using the EoR (End of Row) or MoR (Middle of Row) architecture. Our 10G AOC complies with the SFF-8432 Multi Source Agreement and includes pre-terminated 10G SFP+ connections at both ends and 10G AOC product line supports data rates ranging from 1.0625 to 10.52 Gbps and applications such as 10G Ethernet, GE Ethernet, 1/2/4/8/10G Fiber Channel, and can be used for mobile network fronthaul CPRI and OBSAI protocol options. 25G AOC cable
Following the generation of 10G transceivers, the 25G AOC ensures a smooth and stable network data rate growth. The 25G AOC cable section includes an MSA standard compatible SFP28 transceiver assembly at each end of the cable as well as an optical fiber that is permanently linked to the SFP28 connector to provide consistent link length. Our SFP28 to SFP28 25G AOC cable product line features highly reliable 850nm VCSEL laser technology, a low power dissipation of 1.0 W, and lengths ranging from 1 meter up to 100 meters. 40G AOC cable
Are you looking for a 40G AOC cable? Check out our selection of 40G QSFP+ Active Optical Cables! The direct attach 40G AOC cable incorporates 40G QSFP+ optical transceivers at both ends and has four parallel lanes that operate at 850nm using VCSEL lasers on the transmitter side and PIN Photodiodes on the receiver side. There is also a 40G to 10G AOC Breakout Cable with a 40G transceiver embedded on one end and four separate SFP+ transceivers on the other in this selection. Our 40G AOC cable product line includes cables ranging in length from one to one hundred meters. 50G AOC Cable
To double the data rates of the existing SFP28 links, we provide 50G SFP56 Active Optical Cables. The 50G optical transceivers on both ends use 850nm VCSEL lasers and PAM4 transmission. Transmission data rate is up to 53.125Gbps in distances of maximum 70 meters using OM3 fiber and 100 meters using OM4 fiber. The 50G transceivers embedded on each side have the same popular SFP+ caging to provide more cost effective solutions for enterprises.
100G AOC Cable
100G AOC Cable is an excellent option for use by network architects in situations in which it is necessary to make interconnections at limited distances that are high speed, robust, and low in power consumption. These situations typically involve rack-to-rack interconnections within the same equipment room. 100G AOC Cable consists of Multi-Mode Fiber (MMF) through which 4x 25Gbps, 850nm data signals are transmitted. Available distances are from 1 till 100 meters. At both ends of the cable are top of the line QSFP28 form factor transceivers installed. As well in our portfolio there is 100G to 25G breakout AOC option available. 100G AOC is fully compatible with the QSFP28 MSA standard.
