Our Compatible Meraki SFP lineup

Two optical SFP transceivers and one 1000BASE-T transceiver comprise our three compatible Meraki SFP GbE modules. The Optical 1000BASE-SX transceiver is designed for use on double fiber multi-mode optical connections for GbE applications up to 550m in distance, whereas the 1000BASE-LX10 is designed for double fiber single-mode optical connections for GbE applications up to 550m in distance. Notably, we can prepare virtually all of our GbE SFP optical transceivers for use with Meraki, broadening your options for Meraki SFP accessories. It provides several possibilities for single-mode fiber connections, including extended distances of up to 120 kilometers and the use of single fiber or so-called BiDi modules for fiber resource efficiency. The third module is 1000BASE-T for up to 100m Cat5/6 copper connections.

Similar to Meraki SFP GbE modules, our compatible Meraki SFP+ transceivers handle 10 GbE applications across single-mode and multi-mode fiber. Meraki offers two compatible transceivers for MMF (10GBASE-SR and MA-SFP-10GB-LRM), but three for SMF (10km, 40km, and 80km). Meraki SFP compatibility is accessible for a large number of our 10 GbE SFP+ products, including our BiDi transceivers (10-80km) and CWDM and DWDM transceivers. Using these alternative components will considerably increase your Meraki SFP+ accessory options and allow you to connect to remote Meraki equipment sites while retaining fiber resource efficiency to the greatest extent possible.

The 40G QSFP+ SR4 and CSR4 transceivers in the 40G Meraki QSFP compatible transceiver series are designed for short reach applications up to 150 meters for SR4 and up to 400 meters for CSR4. Both have MTP-MPO-12 connectors and use Multi-Mode Fiber as their transmission medium. 40G LR4 Meraki QSFP is designed for long reach applications up to 10km and has double LC connectors, whereas 40G-SR-BD is a unique type of module that provides the ability to transfer 40G data rates over Multi-Mode Fiber and has LC connectors, allowing for a smooth migration path from existing 10G MMF infrastructure without the need to change optical cabling in the datacenter. In addition to the 40G Meraki QSFP transceiver classic lineup, we can also provide an addition of EDGE Optics 40G QSFP+ compatible transceivers for interconnection distances up to 40km.

The Meraki Twinax cable compatibles include 10 GbE, 40 GbE, and 100 GbE passive direct attach cables. These cables are high-speed copper cable assemblies that do not use optical lasers in their design. Meraki Twinax cable compatibles have become increasingly popular as a result of their low cost, reduced use of power, and easy installation. In the following selection of Meraki Twinax cables, connection distances range from 0.5 meters up to 3 meters, however, if additional flexibility is needed, please check out our complete range of compatible DACs.

100G QSFP28 compatible Meraki transceivers consists of two mainstream 100 GbE modules – 100 GbE QSFP28 LR4, which has dual LC connectors and can be used over Single Mode Fiber as a transmission medium for interconnection distances up to 10km, and 100 GbE QSFP28 SR4, which has MPO/MTP 12 connector and can be used over Multi Mode Fiber for interconnection distances up to 100 meters using OM4 type fiber. As Meraki devices are quite responsive to third-party optical transceivers, there is a vast selection of 100G QSFP28 compatible transceivers from EDGE Optic for interconnections up to 80 kilometers in length.
