Cisco 40/100g BiDi Compatibles
Our Cisco 40/100G BiDi Compatibles are a relatively new addition to the market. These innovative devices allow existing double-fiber multi-mode cabling to be reused for 40G or 100G connections. Although conventional SR4 40G or 100G optics employ four parallel lanes of multimode cable, these Cisco 40/100g BiDi Compatible transceivers integrate WDM technology on multimode by segregating transmission directions and using 850nm and 900nm Tx wave lengths. That reduces the number of fibers from four to two and allows the use of standard Double LC connector. Cisco 40/100g BiDi transceivers are particularly useful for upgrading data centers and other core network locations that use 40G and 100G ports.
