Our Cisco QSFP 40G ER4 module version uses a high-quality 4 x DFB transmitting lasers and 4 x APD receivers, operating each lane with speeds of 11.2 Gbps, giving an aggregated maximum bandwidth of 44.8 Gbps. DDM/DOM optical diagnostics are supported by this module, which provides diagnostic information about the current operating conditions. Digital diagnostics functions are available via a 2-wire serial interface, as specified in SFF-8472.
