# Product Description

    GLC-BX-U-I is Cisco compatible SFP (Small Form factor Pluggable) Transceiver, operating over Single Single-Mode Fiber (SMF) optical cable. It has minimum guaranteed optical budget of 12 dB, with in most cases is enough to reach about 10 km distance. However, distance is just indicative parameter calculated for comfort of identification. Eventually we calculate distance taking in account minimal optical budget and average attenuation of optical cabling in industry. This transceiver use top quality FP Laser transmitter which operates at nominal wavelength 1310 nm. and PIN Photodiode receiver which operates at 1490 nm. wavelength. As bidirectional (BIDI) single fiber transceiver GLC-BX-U-I (Tx:1310nm Rx:1490nm) transceiver usually works in pair with GLC-BX-D-I (Tx:1490nm Rx:1310nm) transceiver to establish link. Transceiver support DDM/DOM optical diagnostics, with provide diagnostic information about the present operating conditions. Cisco compatible GLC-BX-U-I operates in Industrial -40° to 85°C temperature range and has Single LC interface. SFP support 1.063-1.25Gbps data rate and such applications as Gigabit Ethernet (1.25 Gbps), 1G Fiber Channel (1.0625 Gbps). SFP Single Fiber optical transceiver is multi-purpose module used in number of different places of today’s networking. Consequently, most popular applications are Internet Service Provider (ISP) Gigabit Ethernet communication links, Enterprice LAN & SAN Networks, Data Center LAN & SAN Networks and other optical links.
