# Product Description

  SLMD-6BI is part of our Industrial Passive xWDM filter series and supports 6 Channel interconnection over single fiber using 12 LWDM (LAN-WDM) 1269.23-1318.35nm wavelength. SLMD-6BI unit is for harsh outdoor environments supporting IP65 water, dust resistance, -40 to 85C industrial temperature, telecom pole or wall installation options and comes with ODVA LC connectors for easy fiber connection. Unit is small in size, light in weight, is simple to install, requires zero configuration or maintenance and is fully passive – no power supply or cooling required. SLMD-6BI is deployed in the far end site and used together in a scenario with SHMD-10A which is deployed in the main site and Industrial SCMD-4BI deployed in the middle site. SLMD-6BI connects to SHMD-10A through the SCMD-4BI upgrade port. SLMD-6BI uses TFF (thin-film filters) and with added band skip filters has ≤3 dB insertion loss.

    xWDM filters are data rate or line protocol neutral and are used in combination with colored optical transceivers which ensure desired application and data rate. Typical use case for SLMD-6BI filters are 5G/4G Mobile Fronthaul Network Baseband Unit (BBU) and Remote Radio Head (RRH) interconnection (CPRI/eCPRI protocol), Enterprise Network 25G/10G Ethernet links or Datacenter 32/16/8G Fiber Channel connections.
